Dialogues pour piano seul has to be regarded as one of the high points of Staffan Björklund’s work as a composer. The twelve dialogues, which were premièred by the composer himself at the Centre culturel Suédois in Paris in 1992, have an improvisational form, closer to French and Russian music (Messiaen, Skrjabin) than to the Swedish and Germanic tradition. |
